NEWS! I am a Digi Darla DT!!

Hello everyone! I am so excited that I have been chosen to be a design team member for Digi Darla. I know I will be working with some awesome ladies. If you don’t know about Digi Darla let me give you the 411

DigiDarla is the brain child of Kim Eskola and her daughter Emilea.

Emilea and I both enjoy creating and when the idea of creating digital stamps came up, it sounded like the most wonderful way to earn ever!

There was only one problem! We are both shy and dislike the center of attention! As a way of “hiding behind the scenes” and avoiding having one spokeswoman, DigiDarla was born!

The stamps you will find in the store and on this site come from our art as well as a few family friends that help to digitize so we can keep up. Even Emilea’s art teacher has granted permission to create digis from her artwork.

Working with Emilea on this project has been a wonderful blessing and has stretched both of us. Emilea is a busy teen with her passion for art and training our 2 horses, piano and violin lessons, and squeezing in high school classes somewhere in between! She is also the oldest daughter in a family of 11!

I guess that brings you to me, Kim. Yes, I am a busy mom of 9. We do home educate and wouldn’t have it any other way! (well, um, yeah…yes…that’s right, I think…LOL!) Yes, yes, really it is!

I love being able to be home and part of all my children’s lives…but it has not always been easy-like my big haired idea to start this site (was that really my idea? What was I thinking?)

I am looking forward to getting to know you! Feel free to send me any questions you may have about DSC. I will be happy to help!

Stop on over to Digi Darla’s Challenge blog and say Hi!

Here is my Intro Card!

New Lawn Fawn stamps!

I’m so excited about Lawn Fawn’s new stamp release! Since Deconstructed Jen has a new sketch challenge I decided to try out lawn fawn’s Dad’s day stamp. This stamp is just tooo cute. I used Stampin Up’s olive cardstock as my base and embossed Kraft paper with cuttlebugs pebbles folder. I used my nestabilities to cut out the frame and also cut out the chair. I then stamped Lawn’s fawn sentiment included in the set, on satin ribbon. I also used Cappuccino bakers twine to embellish the cardthe card

You’re a Hoot!

Good morning! I decided to try out a new challenge blog today. I headed over to Paper smooches to try out this weeks Picture Perfect challenge. Here is our photo inspiration

I used their freebie digi stamp since I haven’t had a chance to order some of their cute stamps but the digi stamp is soooo adorable. I used digi paper as the background and some twill ribbon and twine which you can purchase over at my shop. I colored in the owl with my Copic markers. I really enjoyed this challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Digi darla Challenge

Good evening everyone! It’s time for another awesome digi darla challenge! This week digi darla is sponsored by bugaboo stamps ( another fav digi store). This weeks challenge is called ” Let’s Celebrate” and what better way to celebrate any occasion than with “crab boat” from bugaboo stamps. So for this card I used a few techniques I learned from different blogs I follow. I printed the digi on two different patten papers to use the sails and then used an embossing pen to give it a 3D effect. Then I used the cloud mask template I downloaded from Bev Rochester to make the clouds in the background. I colored in the digi stamp with my Copic markers and cut out the waves by hand. I wrapped some twine and distressed the sentiment piece. I rolled up the “ahoy” piece to make it look like a rolled parchment. 20120529-234509.jpg

Under the Sea

Time for a new deconstructed sketch-Challenge #53. For this sketch I used a new digi kit called Sunbleached  that I bought from Sweet Shoppe designs. I distressed the sides with blue color box chalk ink and used my bone folder to also distress the sides. I added a vintage ribbon ( which is on sale on my online shop) as embellishment as well as some light blue pearls. The image I used is from A day for daises. I used a 3d method for her tail and one of the seahorse. I colored her in with copic markers and I used an embossing tool to make small circle dents on the tail and on the sea horse to give it some texture.
