Getting deconstructed

Good Afternoon everyone, wow I can’t believe another week has past by and it’s already May. Today Jen posted up her new sketch challenge- Deconstructed Sketch 50. I actually got a glimpse of it on her Facebook page last night. At first I thought “wow, this sketch is going to be a bit tricky” but after checking out the other designs from the design team I became a bit more at ease. Some may think your creativity is limited to what the sketch ask for but for me I think it’s the opposite and that’s why I love to join her challenges. Lately I have been using a lot of digital designer kits because there is a large selection online and you can download them instantly. It saves up space and also gives you a greater flexibility to cut and resize to your liking. I mostly get my digi kits from two peas and a bucket but there are definitely many other sites offering beautiful digi designs. Ok now back to the card. For this card I used A day for daises digi stamp and colored her in with my copic markers. The paper I used are from a digi kit I downloaded called Blush Pattern Paper. I embellished the card with pink seam binding and stitched the edges with my handheld singer sewing machine. The sentiment is from StampinUp “Tiny wishes”. If you would like to know more about digi printing feel free to email me. I would be glad to share what I know.

Tiddlyinks has a new challenge this week and it’s called “A Million Ways to Say Thank You” challenge 85. Since mother’s day is coming up I thought why not Thank our mommies. I used Wryn( my FAV tiddlyink) and used a digi sentiment stamp. I embelished the card with some lace and a few paper flowers.

So I finally made a card sketchbook. I have been wanting to make one ever since I saw Kristina’s book from MACM. I downloaded her template which she has on her site for free and put it together with some designer paper and used thicker stickers to spell out sketchbook. I have sketched out some deconstructed Jen sketches and some of my own. It was easy and fun to make!

Vintage cafe card challenge…

I found a new challenge tonight. It’s called the Vintage Cafe Card Challenge. I found this site after checking out Lily Bean Paperie’s website for some mothers day inspiration. I thought it would be great to try out this challenge. FYI I just love Lily Bean’s cards. I love her style and the amazing colors she uses. So for this challenge I used a couple of different digi kits and one of them is from two peas and a bucket. The image is a free image from Free Vintage digital stamp I also added lace and twine as embellishments. One new technique I used on this card is stitching. I bought a handheld singer machine a few days ago and I am really happy with the results. For less then $20 bucks you can’t go wrong.
